Ai mâncare, nu te plouă-n casă, dar ești deprimat? Sictir. Depresia nu-i altceva decât felul în care viața îți face semn că te iei prea tare în serios. 
Ai probleme pe bune? Atunci nu mai sta pe cur cu ochii pierduți în citate mințindu-te că tot universul conspiră să capeți tu bonuri de masă sau că o să vină o zi în care o să se schimbe totul în bine. Nu există ziua aia. Viața e fix chestia aia care se întâmplă doar în momentele cărora li se zice acum. Mâinele ăla fabulos pe care îl aștepți se fărâmițează în acumuri pe care jumătate le ratezi oftând la citate și proiectând chestii care n-o să vină și jumătate jelind după chestii care n-o să se mai întoarcă.Fă ceva. Dacă nu poți face nimic cu datele existente, mușcă din iarbă și recunoaște că atâta poți și atâta meriți. Zi mulțumesc și săru´ mâna pentru masă.

"Ada e altă colegă de liceu, care a ajuns acum în Anglia, la Cambridge. “Îmi e uneori mai ușor să zic în engleză lucruri foarte emoționale și cumva greu de zis, pentru că sună un pic mai detașat. Dacă îmi vine să plâng, dar nu vreau, atunci le zic în engleză.” Olivia e încă în România, dar la fel de pătrunsă de limba engleză. “De multe ori am folosit vorbitul în engleză ca pe un mecanism de apărare. Mi-e mai simplu să mint în engleză. Declarațiile pompoase sunt mai ușor de făcut într-o limbă care nu e a ta, deci nu sună chiar așa real. Am spus de sute de mii de ori “i love you” din primele săptămâni și doar de zeci de ori că “te iubesc”, și asta după ceva vreme. Rostite în limba ta, lucrurile sună mult mai grav. Șoptite sau urlate în engleză te duc puțin în film, în muzică, undeva unde ai vrea să fii, dar nu ești încă, dar te poți prosti puțin…” Așa am descoperit răspunsul la întrebarea pe care i-am pus-o colegei din liceu. Why do we speak english? Pentru că ne era teamă să vorbim românește."
